KREN Identity Federation lets students, staff and researchers sign in to academic and research services with their institutional account, in Kosovo and, through eduGAIN, worldwide.
KREN Identity Federation is the identity federation for education and research in Kosovo, operated by KREN as part of the GÉANT community. Member institutions use the Identity Provider hosted by KREN, which authenticates users through Microsoft Entra ID, so institutions need no identity infrastructure of their own.
The federation works under the Federation Policy and the Metadata Registration Practice Statement (MRPS), approved on 2 November 2026. KREN is a candidate in eduGAIN: once membership is complete, users of member institutions will reach the services of research and education federations around the world. Membership terms, members, metadata and documents are published at md.kren-ks.eu.
